COMMERCIAL
VEHICLES - Trucks,
buses, coaches, PSV, construction, agricultural, mechanical
handling equipment. e.g. fork lifts.
Pt.No. HS5 2.7 85 C. State if 12 or 24-volt isolator required
for fleet driver use.
This heavy duty model is designed for large or small commercial
vehicles operated by one or many different drivers and to
withstand the rigours of fleet life where it will be needed
- for example once a day 365 days a year. Pre-heats engine
and vehicle heater to 85°C
EMERGENCY
STAND BY VEHICLES - Fire engines, ambulances, mountain
rescue, paramedics, doctors, police, midwives etc.
Pt. No. HS6 50 C FOR EMERGENCY STANDBY VEHICLES - FOR ASSURED
START AND INSTANT PERFORMANCE - State if 12 or 24-volt isolator
required.
This heavy duty model is designed for continuous running
to maintain the engine between 30C and 50C which is below
the temperature where high thermal losses from the surface
of the engine block take place and yet enough to ensure the
primary objectives of assured start and minimal engine wear
are achieved - alll at the lowest possible running cost!
FLEET
VEHICLE IGNITION ISOLATOR
With commercial vehicles often having a number of different
drivers Kenlowe have incorporated as standard an engine isolator
which requires the Kenlowe Hotstart plug to be disconnected
from the mains extension lead and parked in a purpose made
weatherproof socket. This completes the circuit ready for
engine start. The socket can be secured inside or outside
the vehicle - however a discreet location enables the plug
to be disconnected whilst the driver is away from the vehicle
for added vehicle security.
SPECIFICATION
HEATER
ELEMENT
The AC 220/240-volt heater element is a double helical coil
for compactness and incorporates automatic temperature cycling
between 85°C (+-)
and 75°C (+-). Effectively the heater is in operation
up to 85°C when it cuts off - should your departure be
delayed and the temperature drops to 75°C the appliance
will re-cycle to maintain optimum temperature! The standard
specification for the HS5 is 2700W. min / 3000W. max and for
the HS6 2000W. min / 2300W. max.
RECIRCULATING
PUMP
The pump circulates hot water around entire engine and heater;
yet as a recirculation (not pressure) pump it presents no
obstruction to the engine/heater coolant when the engine is
running and the pre-heater is not in use. The integral pump
has a patented shaded pole rotor running in coolant, the stator
is in an adjacent but separate section so that the magnetic
field can be completed whilst allowing the design to avoid
any glands or seals. The patented KENLOWE pump ensures efficient
distribution of the heat and avoids what would otherwise be
mainly hopeful reliance on convected or thermo syphon heat
transfer which, because of poor distribution, could only be
of limited watts. This would significantly limit the temperature
the engine can be heated to.
WATER
CONNECTIONS
Six feet of heater hose, hose connectors and hose clips are
supplied.
ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS
The electrical connections comprise a purpose made weatherproof
plug with spring loaded cap to international standards. The
cable is sheathed for protection and moulded to the plug at
each end. A weatherproof socket is supplied for fitment to
the users own extension lead.
